CULTURE NEWS

  • Koe Wetzel will perform at Simmons Bank Arena in North Little Rock at 6:45 p.m. on Oct. 1 as part of his Night Champion World Tour + ticket presale starts on March 10 with general sale beginning on March 13.  THV 11

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Pulaski County Special School District was granted unitary status after Judge D.P. Marshall Jr. ruled its renovations at Mills High School met court requirements, ending 43 years of federal oversight. It will now operate under full local board control.  ABC 7
  • Applications are open for the UAMS MASH summer medical camp for rising high school juniors and seniors across Arkansas. The free two-week program (featuring hands-on workshops, healthcare shadowing, and CPR training) will be held in various towns in June and July, with deadlines between March 18 and May 8.  THV 11
  • Small-town voters will decide on Act 919 proposals on Tuesday, Mar. 3, with questions on forming independent school districts on their ballots. Officials say the measure is designed to save money and preserve local programs that keep community schools thriving.  THV 11

HEALTH NEWS

  • Great Value cottage cheese sold at Walmart in 24 states (including Arkansas) from Feb. 17 to Feb. 20 was recalled after the FDA flagged incomplete pasteurization; Saputo Cheese USA confirmed the process has returned to normal and no illnesses were reported.  THV 11
  • Baptist Health Community Outreach partnered with Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance to launch the Arkansas Fruit + Vegetable Prescription Program, offering free produce monthly to eligible residents and beginning distribution at 10117 Kanis Road.  ABC 7

SPORTS NEWS

  • Matt Jones and Bubba Carpenter discussed the Razorbacks’ 12-4 loss and 1-0 win over Arkansas State and previewed the weekend series against UT-Arlington. The conversation offered insight into key plays and what to expect in the upcoming games.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Jordan Holman scored a career-high 29 points as Arkansas-Little Rock women overcame an 11-point deficit on Thursday at the Jack Stephens Center—winning 73-68 over Morehead State.
