EDUCATION NEWS

  • On Feb. 20, eStem Public Charter High School hosted its first Black History panel titled 'Leading With Purpose' where local leaders discussed legacy and leadership and opened with a rendition of Lift Every Voice and Sing — school officials said the annual event will inspire future storytelling and mentorship.  THV 11

  • On Friday, Feb. 21, Jurnee Taylor presented Arkansas’s top news stories and introduced Chef Deputy Toni Rose (breaking barriers in her new role).  THV 11

SPORTS NEWS

  • Today, the Arkansas women's basketball team takes on Texas A&M at 2 p.m. at Reed Arena in College Station + the Razorbacks, struggling in conference play, aim to make a comeback as the Aggies build on recent conference wins.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • On Saturday, the No. 8 Arkansas softball team won a doubleheader at Bogle Park, shutting out Northwestern 7 to 0 and beating SEMO 16 to 2 (5 innings) with strong pitching and timely hits.   • At Bud Walton Arena on Saturday, Arkansas beat Missouri 94-86 to earn its 20th win and mark coach John Calipari’s 31st season with 20+ wins in Division I, a historic feat. Calipari ranks third all-time & his record underscores enduring success.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
