  • A new farmers market will open this April in west Little Rock's Breckenridge Village shopping center, offering local produce and community vendors. Residents can look forward to fresh food options and a vibrant local gathering spot.  THV 11

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Flora Jean’s at 433 E. Third St. in River Market will close in March after 4.5 years; sisters Helen Grace, Leila King and Kamiya King plan a final supper series on March 6, 7, 13 & 14 with limited $125 tickets including wine pairings.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Estem High School in Little Rock hosted its first student-led Black History Month panel, where students discussed African American contributions & cultural heritage.  THV 11

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Big Dam Bridge in Pulaski County will close for a routine inspection from Monday, March 9 through Friday, March 13. Motorists must avoid the area from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. — security gates will remain locked as authorities coordinate the effort.  ABC 7
  • The Arkansas Legislative Council approved $126.1 million in grant funding to expand high-speed internet to more than 51,000 homes and businesses under a statewide broadband program. Fifteen internet service providers will soon begin a build-out as part of a larger $1 billion effort to boost connectivity.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • The Razorbacks will host Missouri today at Bud Walton Arena with a shortened rotation from injuries and foul trouble. Coach Calipari (the coach) said Karter Knox is out after surgery, and guard Billy Richmond has stepped up in his place.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • On Friday, three Razorbacks track and field records fell at Randal Tyson Track Center, with Rivaldo Marshall setting a new 800 time and both distance medley relay teams breaking school marks. The team will head to SEC Indoor Championships Feb. 26—28 in College Station.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Former Arkansas football star Bill Gray died earlier this week in Little Rock from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. Gray, key in the Razorbacks’ national championship win and later administrator who oversaw the stadium renovation, will have his funeral Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. at Christian Life Cathedral in Fayetteville.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Bryant junior defensive end Samuel Nelson received a scholarship offer from Arkansas on Friday. He is one of nine in-state 2027 prospects to get a Razorbacks offer after earlier interest from Oklahoma, Florida State, Missouri State, and Central Arkansas.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
