EDUCATION NEWS

  • The University of Arkansas at Little Rock will restore and reopen its planetarium after receiving a $1.2 million gift (announced Wednesday). The venue, closed since 2004, will host new educational shows.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Little Rock Central High School principal Nancy Rousseau is retiring after 24 years of service. She thanked students, parents, and staff in a letter and will help search for her replacement to keep the school's legacy strong.  ABC 7

HEALTH NEWS

  • Arkansas scientists tested gamma oryzanol from rice bran to reduce oxidative stress and improve skin cell healing. They plan to secure funding for animal trials and begin clinical trials by 2030.  THV 11

SPORTS NEWS

  • Conway’s boys basketball team, the Wampus Cats (11-8, 3-3 in 6A-Central), has shown strong effort but sometimes struggles to finish games, Coach Joey Moon said. They will face tough conference opponents over the next two weeks as they chase a first-round bye in the Class 6A state tournament.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Arkansas' men's basketball team defeated LSU 91-62 on Tuesday night, with Trevon Brazile playing 77 minutes and posting a double-double and five blocks amid a shorthanded lineup. Brazile's increased output came as the Razorbacks adjusted to missing key players.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Arkansas softball coach Courtney Deifel said her Razorbacks learned key lessons at the Kickin’ Chicken Classic in Conway, S.C. during a weekend of run-rule wins and one loss to Virginia—lessons that will guide them as they head to the States Up Invitational in San Marcos starting Friday.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
