- ➤ The former Circle K manager in North Little Rock said she was fired after announcing a policy that required customers under 18 to be with an adult to curb theft (policy posted on Facebook amid shoplifting concerns). Business leaders note many stores face similar challenges. ABC 7
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A new outdoor charter school will open in August with Arkansas Outdoor Academy, offering classes partly outdoors to help students develop teamwork and social skills. Enrollment has started and families in Little Rock are signing up for a learning style that ties instruction to real-world activities (by director Chris Horton). ABC 7
- ➤ Parents in the Jacksonville North Pulaski School District are calling for more oversight by forming a new parent advisory group and asking for quarterly safety updates. A community outreach meeting will be held on Feb. 28 at 3:00 p.m. at Landmark Baptist Church to discuss the proposals. THV 11

- ➤ Arkansas Game and Fish Commission biologists advise anglers fishing for deep-water bass to handle their catch because rapid depth changes can cause barotrauma (similar to divers' bends).
