COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Access School's greenhouse collapsed under heavy ice from the winter storm — the school is asking local partners to help rebuild the structure.  THV 11
  • Officials from Keep Little Rock Beautiful and Keep Arkansas Beautiful appeared in the THV11 studio to discuss plans for a big community event aimed at fostering local pride and clean-up efforts — further details on timing and location are expected soon.  THV 11

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Signature Solar, a Texas-based company, launched Sun Atlas Power (a new solar installation firm) to bring solar energy services to Arkansas.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Little Rock is one of 14 cities set to receive over $700K in grant funds to boost economic mobility programs through the Southern Cities Economic Initiative (SCEI); the initiative will support workforce development, affordable housing and small businesses until December 2027.  ABC 7

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Feb. 3, 2026, Brooke Buckner reported Arkansas's top news, including a proposed bill to create a big cat sanctuary in the state.  THV 11
  • Crews from the Public Works office are filling potholes on busy roads after January's winter storm + they are targeting streets with the most 311 requests, including work on West 65th Street. ARDOT will handle repairs on state highways like Baseline and Broadway.  THV 11
  • As winter roads clear, ARDOT warns drivers of more potholes and asks for precise location reports to speed up fixes using temporary cold mix asphalt. Repairs may occur within hours on busy roads or take days on others — detailed reports help crews prioritize work.  ABC 7

SPORTS NEWS

  • North Little Rock's boys basketball team won 66-58 over Little Rock Central Tuesday at Boone-Fitzpatrick Fieldhouse in Little Rock after limited practice due to winter weather *which halted many games.* They will try to build on the win with a makeup game at Cabot Thursday and face Conway Friday.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
