  • St. Joseph Center in North Little Rock held a moving sale and service day on Monday, Jan. 19 as it prepared to leave its current location. The organization sold belongings it no longer needed to clear space for its upcoming move.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

BUSINESS NEWS

  • A Texas-based company is asking the Arkansas Oil & Gas Commission to set a 2.5% royalty on lithium extracted from brine in southern Arkansas — it is the third company to join the state’s lithium market.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • Brooke Buckner delivered Arkansas's top news stories (Jan. 19) that included the Martin Luther King Jr. parade held in Little Rock.  THV 11

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Selandria Jackson and Kadarius Knapper are running for board director in Little Rock School Board Zone 3 and each outlined plans to boost enrollment—Jackson wants to highlight current programs and sports pride while Knapper aims to increase community outreach and early reading; early voting starts Feb. 16.  THV 11

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has unveiled its 10th conservation plate featuring the painted bunting, a summer resident shown in vibrant greens. The plate is available at revenue offices and online (it raises $25 extra for conservation efforts).  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • Arkansas was ranked the most pro-life state for the sixth consecutive year today during the 48th annual March for Life along Capitol Avenue in Little Rock; the peaceful event saw families, church groups, and lawmakers marching in support of Arkansas Right to Life.  ABC 7
