- ➤ Two Arkansans are among 200 contestants in the second season of Beast Games (set to air on Prime Video this month) as they compete for a $5 million cash prize. THV 11
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Arkansas farmers can now use a new sales tax exemption card to save on farming supplies after the Finance Department announced the program Monday. The wallet-sized card, costing $20 initially with a $10 renewal fee and valid for eight years (it includes farm details), will cut paperwork for day-to-day purchases. ABC 7
- ➤ Bank OZK announced a cash dividend of 46 cents per share with payment on Jan. 20 (shareholders as of Jan. 13) after posting record quarterly profit in October; the Little Rock-based bank has raised its dividend for each of its last 62 quarters. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ Ed Gordon Point Remove Wildlife Management Area’s 200-horsepower pump has been running nonstop since Dec. 8 after repairs for copper theft damage, with a new pipe installed near Morrilton to help retain water for flood irrigation of waterfowl hunting units. FINANCE NEWS
- ➤ Little Rock-based Southern Bancorp completed an acquisition of Missouri-based Ozark Heritage Financial Group Inc. and its subsidiary Legacy Bank and Trust Monday, expanding its assets to about $4.7 billion with 66 locations across five states; Legacy customers will see no changes until a planned conversion in fourth-quarter. - ➤ Arkansas will receive $209 million from the federal Rural Health Transformation Program over the next five years to boost rural care, state leaders said. Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders detailed initiatives including HEART & THRIVE to improve access for underserved communities. THV 11

- ➤ Former Memphis receiver Jamari Hawkins signed with Arkansas football on Monday after visiting Fayetteville — he was impressed by the energetic crowd at a recent basketball game. He had 38 catches for 623 yards and 2 touchdowns at Memphis and is now the seventh transfer pledging to join the Razorbacks. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ Michigan transfer running back Jasper Parker (a Big Ten player) visited Arkansas on Monday with the Arkansas football program in Fayetteville. His visit supports the team's recruiting efforts. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ Arkansas gymnastics will begin its 2026 season at Minnesota on Saturday at 4 p.m. Central on Big Ten Network & coach Jordyn Wieber says the Razorbacks are boosted by healthy veterans and key newcomers while expecting fresh all-around contributors. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ Arkansas football added transfer quarterback AJ Hill when he committed Monday — the 6-4 player posted 223 passing yards in two games for Memphis and has four years of eligibility as backup behind KJ Jackson. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
